Larissa Hom is an illustrator based in California, passionate about creating in 2D, 3D, and digital media. As of today, she is a senior in Illustration at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) with a concentration in Nature-Culture-Sustainability Studies (NCSS). Her work blends skills from majors such as Film/Animation/Video (FAV), Apparel Design, Photography, and Jewelry + Metalsmithing. Larissa’s broad skill set serves as a toolkit for fabrication, design, animation, and more as she uses a multimedia approach across materialities, concepts, and stories.  

Larissa’s portfolio is a collection of all things humorous, nostalgic, and intersecting, reflecting her multidisciplinary background. Common themes in her work include culture and identity, the sense of self, and the behavior of nature, which she explores through techniques from her toolkit. Her lighthearted, humorous personal stories resonate with viewers and draw inspiration from personal life. Embracing challenges, Larissa learns new skills for each project while carefully focusing on experimentation and growth. She aspires to collaborate with creatives in entertainment and film, applying her fabrication abilities to puppet, costume, and set designs.
